Here is a personal note from the President of Walden Pond Press, the publisher of the Piano By Number series:
“I wanted a company that was in no way like Amazon or any other big online seller. I don’t want long wait times for replies to emails, and inquiries. I want to be treated like a person just like you would if you did business with an online company.
I’ve had awful online experiences just like you: Office Max sent me damaged paper and then took three weeks to notify me that it would be $690 to send me undamaged paper while I had to pay for the return of their damaged product.
Our company doesn’t work that way. Here, we are aware that almost every package and order and enquiry is attached to a child, or someone important to you, so we make every effort to see that you receive an undamaged, perfect product in a reasonable amount of time.
We never save your email address, don’t compile email lists, don’t use spam to contact you. We don’t save your financial information, and never sell any information to anyone. Ever.
We treat you exactly like you want to be treated by an online company, because we are exactly like you: online consumers. On the matter of returns, we simply don’t accept them: we refund your money, of course, immediately, but you don’t have to return the merchandise. We ask instead that you donate to someone who might want it. Does Amazon treat you like that? Has any online merchant said to you, “Keep the merch, give it to someone who might want it, save yourself the trouble of returning it?” Our only purpose is to increase the number of people who play the piano. Period.”
