Games for the Piano is a great educational tool for piano teaching.
Includes 78 page illustrated book, Play Along CD, DVD, and numbered, removable stickers and FREE USA shipping.
Use GAMES FOR THE PIANO to brighten up the mood of your piano teaching.
Here are nine games your child can play with you, or by themselves, turning that great big piano into an educational toy.
You can use the Play Along Audio CD, or play the accompaniments included yourself. No musical training is required and everything is presented in easy to read Piano By Number format.
First among the fun games are counting games, in which children learn to count and play simple numerical games at the piano. Piano teaching that includes a measure of fun and games will be far more successful for the child.
There are nine fun games included, all with CD accompaniments and teacher’s piano parts. Plus, we include chord symbols (groups of three keys played with the left hand) for every game so that you can use the games without the Play Along CD. You can use either the CD or the chords provided in the appendix of the book, even if the teacher cannot read music.
GAMES FOR THE PIANO contents:
- FOURS Student plays white keys four times each, from one to twelve. Try online here.
- THREES Same game but counting in groups of three.
- PIRATES with teacher’s directions. An rhythm game in which the child’s part is the simplest of all.
- PIRATES without teacher’s directions.
- HAPPY OR SAD Kids identify the emotional quality of small passgaes (a group of notes ) or chords.
- WHICH WAY IS UP Kids identify the direction in which the music is moving.
- NAME THAT SONG A game show involving very familiar songs.
- FOLLOW THE LEADER Kids have to observe and repeat the pattern that the teacher plays.
- FOURS WITH BLACK KEYS A more complex version of the FOURS games which includes the black keys.
Just follow along with the Play Along Audio CD and you’ll be playing fun piano games right away.
We often use these games when children become tired of working hard at reading music, and need some relief and fun from the tedium that conventional piano teaching involves.
You’d be surprised how refreshed children are after a bit of fun, and how ready they are for a little more hard work.
